Cabo Drilling (Pacific) Corp.

Cabo Drilling (Pacific) Corp. has been privileged to work with a number of clients, such as Barrick Gold, that have demonstrated a commitment to the health and safety of their employees through exemplary safety records.

Barrick’s commitment to the safety of their employees has been recognized by the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM); which awarded the Eskay Creek mine the John T. Ryan Award, a award of excellence for lowest accident frequency at mines in Canada, in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Cabo Drilling (Pacific) Corp., which operated exploration diamond core drill rigs at Eskay Creek from 1996 to 2007, was fortunate to work with Barrick over the life of the mine, and is pleased that our commitment to safety contributed to the low accident frequency statistics achieved at the mine.

Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp.

Management at Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp. is committed to provide the training and the resources required to ensure the safety of each of our employees and the employees of the clients we work for.

We have been honored to receive the 2006 Class “A” Surface, 2007 Class “A” Surface, and 2007 Class “B” Underground awards from the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association in recognition of being the Company with the lowest frequency of accidents in the respective classes over the last two years. We were particularly pleased to be awarded the 2006 Henry Skowronski memorial award, which recognizes the company in the mineral drilling industry with the most improved safety record for the year.

While these are important milestones for the Company, we are especially proud of the impact that our commitment to safety is having in the field. In March, 2008, Kirkland Lake Gold was awarded both the Angus D. Campbell award and the Robert E. Dye trophy as a result of their outstanding accomplishment of having a zero lost time injury record and the lowest medical aid injury frequency of mines in Northeastern Ontario in 2007. "Both awards are a credit to all 270 company and contractor employees working both underground and on surface," said Brian Pascoe, Safety Superintendent for Kirkland Lake Gold (KGI Press Release, March 31, 2008).

Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp. has been working as a mineral drilling contractor with Kirkland Lake Gold since 2001/2002 and is proud that our efforts to create a safety first culture has contributed to Kirkland Lake Gold’s safety success.
